UPDATED 25/02/2021
Service Resumption Roadmap:
We are delighted to be able to announce our roadmap to the resumption of our service line with the UK government’s own roadmap out of lockdown.
Opening again on Monday 12th April, we have already reopened our online system for reservations. If you are a member and would like to reserve items ready for when we open you can now do so. Instructions on making a reservation are here.
This announcement also sees us expand our operations in two stages towards being open 6 days per week.
Please note the dates listed below are subject to change in line with the UK government’s own changing of any dates for their stages out of lockdown.
This service will be a return to our full service, not just the click & collect service we’d operated since the first lockdown. The click & collect system will still be in place for anybody looking to reserve a specific time slot, but dropping in and browsing the shop will be possible again. We will also have our full catalogue available for borrowing rather than the restricted catalogue we operated with for most of 2020.
- From Monday 12th April 2021 (stage 2 of government roadmap out of lockdown). We will resume our service. We will be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (4 days per week) from 10.30am until 2pm. Limits on number of persons within the shop at any one time will be in accordance with government guidelines.
- From Monday 27th May 2021 (stage 3 of government roadmap out of lockdown). We will be able to have more volunteers working in the shop as we are able to ease limits on persons within the shop at any one time in accordance with government guidelines. We will accept applications from new volunteers from this point onwards.
- From Monday 21st June 2021 (stage 4 of government roadmap out of lockdown). We will expand our operations from 4 to 6 days per week, meaning we will be open from 10.30am to 2pm Monday to Saturday.
If you are an existing Subscriber Member or Standard Member you will have lost some months of your membership during lockdown. Please contact us or let us know when you first visit the shop after re-opening if you would like your membership extending to compensate for this time and we will manually extend your membership in line with the amount of time you lost during the pandemic.
Please feel free to get in touch via our contact form if you have any further questions or concerns.

Click&Collect + Drop-in Services
UPDATE FROM 04/12/2020
Under current Covid-19 pandemic conditions we are operating the Click & Collect + Drop-in service.
Full details on the service and how to use it are outlined below.
You must be registered as a member (register here) and have your card stored file in order for us to be able to take payment (whether online or in the shop). We are no longer accepting cash. If you’re already a member but don’t have your card on file you can click here to log in to your account and add your details.
Click&Collect
Reservations can be made online up to and including the day of collection. To make a reservation simply log in to your account here, browse the catalogue to find your items, choose your date and time slot to collect and click, ‘Complete Reservation’. Alternatively you can call us between 10.30am and 4pm on Monday or Friday and we’ll process the reservation for you. Read our step-by-step guide to reserving online here.
Drop-in
We recommend you reserve in advance to guarantee your item is available, but it is also possible to drop in and borrow without doing so. There is still no shop browsing but you can pop in to our booth inside the door to say hello, request items to borrow or sign up on Mondays and Fridays, between 10:30am and 4pm!
Further instructions on how to check-out (collect), check-in (drop off) and donate item(s) are displayed below along with answers to other queries you may have.
