SHARE’s Community Projects

Could you fund one of our projects or give your time to volunteer? Maybe you would like to take part, want more information or have a project idea you’d like to share with us.

SHARE Threads Kids Costume Hire

SHARE hopes to open its children secondhand costume hire service soon. Could you donate unwanted costumes, volunteer your time to repair costumes and organise fittings or fund the cost of materials to help keep our costumes in tip top condition. Or could you WOW our little customers by painting a giant mural for them in our shop stairwell?

SHARE How-to Skills & Information Sharing Space

At SHARE we are tasked to help people to live in more self sufficient and sustainable ways. But we are far from experts at all the amazing things that can be done and so we have created SHARE How-to. A space where local people, groups and organisations can come to share their skills, experiences or knowledge about all things green.

#LoveFromeLibraries Library Collaboration

Libraries are thriving in Frome and SHARE is working closely with the Frome Library, Frome Toy Library (run by Purple Elephant) and Frome Seed Library to make sure that we all support each other in any way that we can. Keep an eye on our events page, blog and newsletter to find out more about the things we’re doing together

SHARE Frome and the Frome Rotary

SHARE was invited to Frome Rotary in February 2023. We told them about what we do and our plans for the future. We agreed we’d work with the Rotary Charity shop to support each other through sharing donations and ideas and encouraging people to use both services. By ‘giving local’ your donations stay local meaning help for more local people.

Precious Creations & Repurposed Family Treasures

We’d love you to SHARE stories with us about your making, up cycling and repair wizardry. Have you crafted amazing things from secondhand materials or up-cycled a precious family heirloom to make it current and cool? Your stories will help us inspire others to do the same so they buy less, reduce waste and help the planet. You can share your stories and images here.

Sharing Thanks Within our Community

As part of Fromes Kindness Festival, SHARE created a window display where people could share their thanks to people who have shown them kindness. We loved it so much that we’re carrying it on for now. So pop into the shop anytime we’re open to add your thanks or email us with your message and we’ll add it on your behalf.

SHARE How-to Repair & Skill Share Workshops

SHARE Frome has opened its space for individuals and organisations to run workshops and events of their own. Email us to find out more about using the space. As well as this, we have applied for funding to host a series of How-to skills sharing workshops so watch this space to find out more.

We’d like to keep our events affordable, relying on donations to help them continue. If you’re able to offer help in any way at all, please get in touch or donate using this link, many thanks!

We’re always on the hunt for volunteer fixers, repairers and up-cyclers. Have you got what it takes to unpick, deconstruct, repair or upcycle in a busy social event environment? Do you have valuable skills that could be shared with others helping them to live more self-sufficient, cost effective and sustainable lives? Your help would keep our events affordable so please get in touch with us using the contact form below.
